The 2018 Newport Folk Festival was much more than a spiritual experience… year after year it penetrates deep into the soul… this year even deeper. It was the first time in months I have had faith in humanity. Performers and concert goers alike breaking down unable to stop the waves of elation and gratefulness sweeping over them. I would like to personally thank Langhorne Slim for getting my waterworks flowing… I needed that so badly! I was sitting on the pier after the festival was over playing my guitar and I noticed Glen Hansard giving me a listen and then waving as his boat pulled away leaving me beaming as a lighthouse on Narragansett Bay (photo by Joe Pug). The photo of me in front of the NFF logo is by my Maine man Steve Legare and the photo of me sitting on the “folk” sign was taken by Adam Richert! Can I get an amen?!
